Chapter 4 - Motion in Two and Three Dimensions - Questions: 14c

Answer

The egg will land in front of your hands.

Work Step by Step

When the egg is tossed, it is traveling at the speed that it was at when it was thrown. So if the car was traveling at 80mph, the egg will travel at that speed for the duration of the flight. The car, however, will be decreasing in speed. So by the time the egg lands, the car would be traveling slower than 80mph. This means that the egg will land in front of your hands.
