Chapter 33 - Think and Explain - Page 635-636: 47

Answer

The alpha particle is much more massive.

Work Step by Step

Though the alpha particle has twice the charge, it has over 7000 times the mass (each of the four nucleons has about 1800 times the mass of an electron). For the same KE, the alpha particles are moving much more slowly, so they feel a smaller force and they have a larger mass. They will deflect less than beta particles do.
