Period is the time needed to complete a full cycle of vibration. Amplitude measures the maximum displacement of a wave from the equilibrium (midpoint) position. Wavelength is the length of one complete cycle of a wave - the distance between successive peaks or troughs. The frequency of a wave is the rate of vibration, the number of oscillations per second.
