Chapter 18 - Think and Solve - Page 351-352: 36

Answer

Converting to absolute temperatures, the ideal (Carnot) efficiency = $\frac{298 K – 277 K}{298 K} = 0.07 = 7\%$. This sounds rather inefficient, but there is a huge supply of warm surface water, which means we can still generate sufficient power to make this all worthwhile.
