Chapter 11 - Think and Explain - Page 224-225: 43

Answer

Brownian motion of a particle is caused by random jostling of atoms and molecules against the particle. Random fluctuations produce a time-varying net force on the particle. Brownian motion is not observed for a baseball because its mass is too large to be much affected by the imbalance of hits.
