Chapter 4 - The Carbohydrates: Sugars, Starches, and Fibers - Critical Thinking Questions - Page 130: B

Answer

A slow carb diet is great for diet loss because foods with slow-carbs don't spike your blood pressure like foods rich in carbs. Eating only slow-carb foods and avoiding foods like pasta, rice, etc. rich in carbohydrates, combined with exercising a few times a week is a great combo for losing weight. By avoiding the foods rich in carbs, the body doesn't put on any new fat, so every time the body exercises it burns stored fat and not the carbs from food.
