Answer

The -OCH3 attacks from the bottom (opposite from Br) to push Br out. In the transition state, Br hasn't completely left and OCH3 hasn't completely formed bond with carbon. So, carbon has partial bonds (represented by dashed lines) with Br and OCH3. As for the product, OCH3 replaces Br.
