$CH_3NH^-$ can accept a proton from $CH_3CH_2OH$. So the following reaction will take place. $CH_3CH_2O^-$ is the conjugate base because it losses a proton and $CH_3NH_2$ is conjugate acid because it gains a proton. Stronger acid and base are on the reactant side. The equilibrium will favor the weaker side and thus, products will be favored. Since in the conjugate base the negative charge is on the most electronegative atom, it will be the major contributor of resonance.
