Here, ether means -O- functional group is present here and 'ethyl butyl' means one ethyl (CH3CH2-) group is present on one side and one butyl (CH3CH2CH2CH2-) group is present on the other side of the functional group. Now, we can write the structure of the compound easily, Question b: Look at the structure of the compound. Here, -O- functional group is present. So, this is ether and the ending name of the compound will be 'ether'. Now, we see that two ethyl (CH3CH2-) groups are present on both side of the functional group.
