When Acetylene reacts with Hydrogen Iodide, it forms 1-iodoethene as the product. This reaction is called Alkyne addition reaction where Alkynes participate in addition reaction due to triple bond present in them. When Alkyne reacts with one mole HI, it forms addition product. The triple bond breaks down to a double bond and one H atom is added to one C whereas one I atom is added to another C associated with the triple bond.
