Answer

PbS + PbS$O_{4}$$\longrightarrow$ Pb + 2 S$O_{2}$

Work Step by Step

PbS + PbS$O_{4}$$\longrightarrow$ Pb + S$O_{2}$ Writing the above equation for this chemical reaction is the first step. Using our knowledge on the nomenclature of names of ions and substances we obtain the above equation. 1. Balance S atoms . There are two on the left ( 1+1) and only 1 n the right. So we add 2 before S$O_{2}$ PbS + PbS$O_{4}$$\longrightarrow$ Pb + 2 S$O_{2}$ 2. We see that Pb atoms are balanced and O atoms are now balanced. So we have balanced the chemical equation.
