Answer

Chloric acid: $HClO_{3}$ Perchloric acid: $HClO_{4}$

Work Step by Step

In chloric acid, the anion Chlorate is $ClO_{3}^{-}$. In order to change it to acid, Hydrogen ion is added and the '-ate' in chlorate is changed to '-ic'. Hydrogen ion has a +1 charge and chlorate anion has a -1 charge. Thus, the chemical formula for chloric acid is $HClO_{3}$. In perchloric acid, the anion perchlorate is $ClO_{4}^{-}$. In order to change it to acid, Hydrogen ion is added and the '-ate' in perchlorate is changed to '-ic'. Hydrogen ion has a +1 charge and perchlorate anion has a -1 charge. Thus, the chemical formula for perchloric acid is $HClO_{4}$.
