Chapter 10 - Liquids and Solids - Active Learning Questions - Page 499: 10

Answer

Intramolecular forces are stronger than intermolecular forces because intramolecular forces are due to the formation of chemical bonds, but intermolecular bonds are only attractions between dipoles of molecules. For example a covalent bond is an intramolecular force and is stronger than a dipole-dipole intermolecular force.
