Chapter 22 - Test Your Understanding - Level 3 - Synthesis/Evaluation - Page 479: 9

Answer

The honeypot ant shows unity in that it has an abdomen (and legs, antennae, etc.) similarly structured to those of all other ants, adaptation in how it has a modified abdomen to allow for food storage, and diversity in just how it uses its abdomen differently from other ants.

Work Step by Step

Close your eyes and think of ants you have seen (or do a web search and scroll through a few dozen pictures of different ants). See how much they have in common with the honeypot ant, with the obvious difference being that abdomen. Unity will be from shared features while diversity and adaptation come out in the differences.
