Chapter 15 - Darwin and Evolution - Assess - Page 278: 9

Answer

Correct answer is : e. Both b and c are correct.

Work Step by Step

All organisms need to adjust to the conditions and environment they live in. In other words, special characteristics that plants and animals have, enable them to successfully survive in a particular environment. This is called the adaptation. Organisms that share the same bio-geographical regions with similar environments need to adopt similarly for their survival. So, if we have different regions with similar environments, animals in them should have the same adaptations. Since each environment has some species that adapted for their survival in that particular environment, each environment has its own specific mix of plants and animals. So, the correct option is both b and c.
