Answer
The muscosa's superficial layer is the epithelium and under it hold connective tissue that are recognized as lamina propria with a some smooth muscle fibers called the mucus muscularis muscosae. The epithelium is a columnar epithelium with muscus secreting goblet cells. The muscus helps to protect a specfifed digestive organs so it wont be digested by enzymes that are in the cavities. It helps with the passage of food in some of the digestive organs the muscoas had enzyme secreting and hormone secreting cells. This part called the lamina propria has areolar connective tissue that contains lymph nodules. It helps with a defense against bacteria. Located in the small intestines the muscularis musosae uses the mucosal tunic to increase the surface area for secretion and abosorbtion.
The submuscoas consist of areolar connective tissue that has blood vessels, nerve endings, and glands. It also has a network that takes the nutrients that have been absorbed. The nervus plexus is a peice of enteric nerve supply in the gastrointestinal tract.
The serosa consists of areolar connecctive tissue and surrounds itseld with mesothelium which is a layer of squamous epithelial cells. It protects the surrounding layer and the visceral peritoneum.
The muscularis externa mixes and sends food through the tract. the tunic consists of a inner circular layer and has an surrounding llong layer of smooth muscle cells.
