The three cuneiform bones, and the cuboid bones of the tarsus are arranged in a row in a manner similar to the arrangement of the distal carpal bones-- trapezium, trapezoid, capitate and lunate; the trapezium corresponds to the medial cuneiform, ( proximal to digit 1).
