Answer

The zygomatic bones form the angle of the cheeks at the inferolateral margins of the orbit. They are part of the lateral wall of each orbit and extend about halfway to the ear. Each zygomatic bone is in the form of the letter "T". There is a small foramen near the intersection of the stem and the crossbar of the "T".

Work Step by Step

A prominent zygomatic arch flares from each side of the skull. It is formed by a union of parts of three bones-- temporal, maxilla and zygomatic. The three important foramina in the zygomatic arch are the zygomatico-orbital foramina, the zygomatico-facial foramen, and the zygomatico-temporal foramen.
