Chapter 19 - Section 19.1 - Figure 19.1 - General Schematic of the Cardiovascular System - Page 710: 2

Answer

The lungs are supplied by both the pulmonary circuit by the pulmonary arteries and the systemic circuit by the bronchial arteries.

Work Step by Step

The pulmonary circuit sends deoxygenated blood to the lungs for gas exchange and returns the oxygenated blood back to the heart. Therefore the lungs are supplied by the pulmonary circuit. But the lungs are also supplied by the bronchial arteries in the systemic circuit. The lungs are also a tissue that requires oxygen themselves and nutrients. They receive the oxygen and nutrients from the systemic circuit.
