By definition $\sin\theta=\dfrac{y}{R}$ $\cos\theta=\dfrac{x}{R}$ $\tan\theta=\dfrac{y}{x},$ where $R^2=x^2+y^2.$ Our point have coordinates $x=-\sqrt3$ and $y=1$. then $R=2$. So $\sin\theta=\dfrac{1}{2}$ $\cos\theta=-\dfrac{\sqrt3}{2}$ $\tan\theta=-\dfrac{1}{\sqrt3}=-\dfrac{\sqrt3}{3}$
