Given statement is- $\sin\theta\cot\theta$ = $\cos\theta$ Left Side = $ \sin\theta\cot\theta$ = $ \sin\theta.\frac{\cos\theta}{\sin\theta}$ (Using ratio identity) = $\cos\theta$ ( As $\sin\theta$ cancels out $\sin\theta$ ) = Right Side Thus proved that- Left Side = Right Side i.e. Given statement, $\sin\theta\cot\theta$ = $\cos\theta$, is an identity.
