Chapter 10 - Geometry - 10.3 Polygons, Perimeter, and Tessellations - Exercise Set 10.3 - Page 636: 10

Answer

Figures a and b are regular polygon. Figure a is Square and Figure b is rhombus.

Work Step by Step

A polygon is a two-dimensional figure which is of two types that is a regular polygon and an irregular polygon. A regular polygon is a figure in which all the sides are of the same length. In irregular polygon, all sides are of different length. A Parallelogram is a special type of polygon with four sides with opposites sides parallel and is of equal length. If all the sides of a quadrilateral are equal without having any right angles, then it is called rhombus. Square has opposite sides parallel and all sides are of equal length. The diagonals of square intersect each other. A square has it all four angles at right angles. Hence, the figures a; and b are regular polygon. Figure a is Square and Figure b is rhombus.
