(2) The line $y=m x+b$ has a slope of $m$ and a $y$-intercept of $(0, b)$. Thus, $y=\frac{1}{2}x+7$ has a slope of $\dfrac{1}{2}$ and has $(0, 7)$ as its $y$-intercept. From $(0, 7)$, use the concept of slope as rise over run by moving $1$ units up (the rise) and $2$ units to the right (the run) to obtain the point $(2, 8)$. Plot the points then connect them using a straight line. Refer to the graph above.
