Chapter 5 - Polynomials and Factoring - 5.1 Introduction to Factoring - 5.1 Exercise Set - Page 311: 80

Answer

Kris' way is better.

Work Step by Step

Both expressions evaluate to the same number. While Tina uses a good method, it is best to use Kris' method, for Kris simply uses the equation for the surface area of a cylinder. Thus, while you could argue for Tina's method as it uses simpler Math, Kris' method has the benefit that using the equation will always be correct no matter the situation.
