Write both equations in slope-intercept form to obtain: First Equation: $y=3x+9$ Second Equation: $2y=8x-2 \\\frac{2y}{2}=\frac{8x-2}{2} \\y=4x-1$ Note that two equations have different slopes. Thus, their graphs are not parallel lines.
