Then, shift it up by one unit, obtaining the graph of $ f(x)=f_{1}(x)+1=2^{x}+1\quad$ (blue, solid). The curve passes through $(-1,1.5),(0,2),(1,3)$, the left side nearing the line $y=1$ Join the points with a smooth curve. Graph the line $y=1$ (dashed).
