Answer

The factors of 24 are : $ 1 ,2 ,3 ,4 ,6 , 8 , 12 , 24 $

Work Step by Step

The factors of 24 are all whole numbers that divide 24 with no remainder . In order to find the factors of 24 do the following steps : 1) Start with 1 , we have $ 1\times 24 = 24$ so $1 , 24$ are factors . 2) Try 2 , we have 2 \times 12 = 24 so $2 , 12$ are factors . 3) Try 3 we have 3 \times 8 = 24 so $3 , 8$ are also factors . 4) Try 4 , we have 4 \times 6 = 24 so $4 , 6$ are factors . 5) 5 doesn't work , hence not a factor . Since there are no remaining factors of 24 between 4 and 6 so we are done ! Therefore the factors of 24 are : $$ 1 ,2 ,3 ,4 ,6 , 8 , 12 , 24 $$
