Greenspan 's behavior is profit-maximizing since he hires a person who is a great worker, but his wages are less than they should be. We could see it both ways, but in my opinion, it was only using the current market situation. If more bosses were like him, men and women 's salaries would be the same at any point. There was probably some consensus view that men are better workers than women, and people often follow the key trends and consider them to be the best options.
