Why do you think Paul’s parents decided not to tell him what happened? Do you agree with their decision? Is there a time when it is or is not right for parents to hide information from their children?

I think Paul's parents are rather cowards. They enable their sociopathic son Erik to carry out his torment on victims which include his brother Paul. His parents did not want conflict between Paul and Erik over the blinding. What they actually do is encourage Erik's violent behaviour and allow Paul to find the truth on his own causing even more strife in the family.
