Considering that Erik sprayed white paint into the eyes of his kindergartener brother, this relationship would be dysfunctional. Their parents hide Erik’s assault on Paul. Erik barely talks to Paul. If he does, he taunts him. Eventually Paul begins to figure Erik out. He sees his brother for what he is, a scared bully with self-esteem issues.
