How do Lucie and Charles’ children respond to Sydney Carton? Why would Dickens portray this relationship this way? What is he telling us about Sydney? (From Book 2 Chapters 21-24)

Although I can't find the exact chapter, I do know that Carton becomes an uncle to the Darnays's children. I would imagine the children reacted well to him.
