Again this is much more like an essay question that I can't fit into this space. Of course you have the general conflict of the poor masses purging the Monarchy and those that support them. In particular the story focuses on

-Madame Defarge seeking revenge against Darnay because of his relation to the Marquis Evrémonde

-Carton, Manette, Lucie, and Jarvis Lorry attempt to shield Darnay from the bloodthirsty revolutionaries and the final dreadful guillotine.
