Bringing in Technology

Throughout the study of Sula, students with disabilities should have the option of using dictation software for writing assignments, text-to-speech software for reading assignments, or any other ADA-mandated technological accommodations.

In the Day 1 activity, “Colorism,” students will watch videos on YouTube about the concept of colorism and then discuss how this concept relates to the novel.

In the Day 1 activity, “Train Ride to New Orleans,” students will trace Nel’s and Helene’s journey from Ohio to New Orleans on Google Maps, as well as well as choose photographs on Google Images to illustrate every city the women would have passed through.
