who are the marthas?

The Martha's are a clique or a group of girls that like decorating and are named after the home designer Martha Stewart. Malinda sees the Marthas for what they probably are: rude and self-absorbed girls. Malinda's tone is surprised and sarcastic to her friend wanting to join the group.
