What goes wrong between Paul and Miriam? Is it just that she cannot compete with his love for his mother, or is there some other problem?

Sons and Lovers is offten regarded by the critics as a best novel of reflecting oedipus complex therory sigmund frued. In fect, oedipus complex alone can hardly summarize the connotation in the novel. The groth of the hero paul close link to the Miriam. Then why does love between them fail? We can ans this question by observing the character of paul and Miriam.

The thing goes wrong between paul and Miriam that paul was in love with his mother. His mother was not satisfied and could not get full attenstiin of Mr.paul therefore she turned all his affection and love for his son.Paul also get attract to his mother. He falls in love with his mother. This love was sexually love.

Now whenever his mother trying to attecth with his father he gets jelious and whenever paul try to involves with another girls except his mother his mother get jelious .

This thing was going wrong between paul and mariam . Paul was unable to built his relationship with any girl except his mother because love of his mother makes him mently disturb.

Miriam tried her best to satisfy the paul but she could not get his full attenstion. After that he find another girl clara.she was beautiful and sexy.In early time paul get satisfied but soon he gets bore.

He comes to know that botha clara and mariam have affair with other man he thinks that women are not faithful therefore he bounds himself to his mother love.

In the end All gets tragic and due to un natural love.
