When reading Song of Roland, what do you like most? Roland the character, some other character, or an event or episode? Why do you like it very much? Please explain.

My favorite part of the story is when Charlemagne arrives at Rencesvals, and the sun is held up by God so that his enemies are unable to hide under the shadows of darkness. It's a beautifully descriptive scene, as it follows the horrific slaughter of Roland and his men.
