Jesper's guns are a part of his persona..... a part of him. In a way, they are a distraction, they give him something to hold onto when he wants to fidget, and when he feels uncomfortable. They also provide him with an outlet, gunfighting, as well as gambling, serve as an outlet to keep him from using his powers.
