which character shows more courage Sir Gawain or the Green Knight?

I'll have to go with Gawain on this one. Apperently the Green Knight can walk around with his head cut off so really he wasn't in much danger. Gawain shows up a year later knowing he would probably be getting his head cut off like a chicken. Sure he wears the "magic" scarf but really, did he think it would actually work? Gawain presents his head for the Green Knight to sever; that's pretty courageous!
