What does The Green Knight want from camelot?

He is a little ambiguous figure. He says that he comes in friendship but his game is pretty deadly. He wants to fight King Arthur; a wager that has them cut each other’s heads off. The King would get first swipe! Sir Gawain accepts the deal in the end.
