"Barn Burning," is set in Yoknapatawpha County. "A Rose for Emily" takes place in Jefferson, which is its county seat. It is also the setting of fourteen of Faulkner's nineteen novels. The county is based upon the actual Jefferson county in Mississippi; the fictional Jefferson town is based on the actual Oxford. This map was included in Absalom! Absalom! (1936), which was Faulkner's sixth novel set in Yoknapatawpha County.A Rose For Emily and Other Short Stories Essays and Related Content
