Shakespeare's Sonnets

Shakespeares Sonnet # 130

A common explanation of this sonnet is the author is merely mocking the conventional love poems. Is this a valid criticism or not? Explain.

I think it is valid. The last two lines seem to confirm this statement. The speaker says that his love is as special as any woman whom poets have lied about with false comparisons in their poetry. This, of course, is a rhetorical statement.
