disagreements

Question

why did the people disagree with these four statements?

1. what i must do is all that concerns me, not what the people think

2. it's not the destination, it's the journey

3. a man is relieved and gay when he has put his heart in to his work and done his best

4. nothing can bring you peace but yourself. nothing can bring you peace but the triumph of principles.

- This doesn't help the greater good. We don't look after other people only ourselves. What's the point of living?

-There are not goals, nothing gets done

- Difficult to argue with this. I suppose people may have other priorities like God, friends, relaxation...

-This is very self-centred. There are other things like God, kids, friends.....
