Schindler's List

Notice how long it takes for the audience to see Schindler's face! We see him getting ready, dressing, and walking into a restaurant. Why might Spielberg choose to shoot this scene this way?

never take film appreciation!

Spielberg wanted to isolate Oscar from the war. Oscar was not a soldter or a oilitician: he was a bussinessman. This scene sets context for schindler being a profateer of the the war and lter a well dressed playboy. We can, later in the movie, juxtapose this wuith the humanitarian Schindler becomes.
