Marianne tells the reporter that she believes in compassion for her fellow man. Ironically, Johan believes that one should only be looking out for themselves.

Johan is an Associate Professor at Psychotechnology Institute. Ironically, we see that his use of experimenting with technology for desired outcomes isn't his true passion; poetry is, a fact which he never shares with Marianne.
Family Law
Marianne practices family law and handles divorces. Ironically, her marriage ends in divorce and she and Johan must go through the process of ending their relationship.
A Few Words
Johan is asked to describe himself in a few words by the reporter. Ironically, he can't stop gloating over himself and all of the attributes that make him great, but he fails to mention being a great husband.

The photographer for the magazine takes a photograph of Marianne and Johan with his arm around her. Ironically, as soon as the photo is taken Marianne removes her husband's arm from touching her.
