Maybe an excerpt or two would be worth showing, but the entire thing is something like 12 hours long. That is MUCH too much class time to take for one story.
Perhaps show Kunta Kinte's capture, his foot being cut off, Kizzy's abuse by Mr. Moore, Chicken George's rise to freedom, etc.--just the high points.
