Why might Shakespeare have created such a contrast?

I'm contrasting Juliet taking the potion to the discovery of her "death"

I think the atmosphere changes to bring to light the folly of Capulet's view of his daughter. Like many Shakespearean males, Capulet views women as possessions that are either spoiled or "pure”. We see this dichotomy in these two scenes.
