when does Romeo and Juliet tragedy take place?

During what years does the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet take place?I don't mean when it was written by Shakespeare, but when does the story take place. My interpretation is that it was located in the medieval time, but when?Is there any reference in the play that could point to a specific year or decade etc? I can't find any reference in the web.
