Fortune? Romeo and Juliet flout convention as star-crossed lovers. None-the-less, it's their actions that influence the end result. Fate has nothing to do with youth and impetuous behavior. The two are self-absorbed and thoughtless. They do not think about the people around them, they don't have a plan, and they act in a foolish and impetuous manner. Their actions prove their inability to make adult decisions. Maybe they should have tried to marry with their parents' blessings, possibly they could have ended the feud with honesty and steadfast emotion. Fate doesn't kill the couple.... immaturity, youth, and inexperience enables poison to do its work.
