Romeo and Juliet

Though act 2 is a happy act, Shakespeare at times reminds us of the threatening background. He does this by foreshadowing-giving clues to what will happen later. Point out lines that foreshadow possible trouble ahead.

Friar Laurence says to Romeo, "Wisely and slow. They stumble that run fast" (2.2.94).
