Romeo and Juliet

How would a Shakespearean audience view the risk Romeo is prepared to take in Act 2.2?

In Act 2.2 Romeo says how he would rather let the Capulets find and kill him than live without Juliet's love. How would an Elizabethan audience react to this? (would they find it crazy that he would die for her or would they not be suprised by this?)

I think the theme of young impulsive love would have been understood in a similar fashion as it is today. They would have understood arranged marriages better than the Western world does today. The audiences would have found R & J's love passionate and rebellious.
